Objective
Establishment of an extracurricular learning center with a focus on experiments at the Zittau/Göritz University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR)

Pupils at secondary levels I and II
Pupils in voluntary offers, e.g. GTA
Children and young people as part of afternoon, vacation and leisure activities

Build-up phase
from June 2023: 12 to 18-month phase
approx. 350 m² with up to 6 work zones, office workstations, warehouse

Foundation of the Junior Academy workshop
Objective
Participatory design of the Junior Academy Zittau through the comprehensive involvement of teachers from the region in the conception, implementation and evaluation of the teaching-learning programs
Promoting exchange between the schools, the ZukLOS project and the DLR
Identification of the schools' central requirements for the creation of curriculum-coordinated offers
Recruitment of pilot schools for the planning and evaluation of the offers
Initial results of the collaboration
Teachers want extracurricular educational activities that can be carried out with the whole class - especially in 4-hour blocks or 90-minute sessions
Provision of experimental equipment to borrow
Teachers are very interested in long-term cooperation and a joint concept for extracurricular educational activities
