a) Energy trail

Make existing rooms and open spaces conducive to meeting and collaboration
  • Implementation of project days with pupils at the HSZG
  • Close involvement of the schools in the planning and implementation of the project days (e.g. topics, learning objectives, didactic and methodological approach)
  • Provision of class level-dependent offers based on the catalog of topics for student events at the HSZG

b) MINT - learning and hands-on room

Setting up a workshop as an open learning space with access to tools, materials and knowledge
  • Start and end point for project days
  • The equipment as a makerspace motivates self-effective learning
  • A place for regular workshops and free use
  • Attractive outdoor area

c) Innovative teaching and learning spaces

Create innovative teaching/learning spaces on campus
  • Creating meeting places by upgrading existing open spaces and innovative teaching and learning spaces
  • Promoting collaboration, creativity and concentration

c) Booking system

System for easier room and resource booking as well as event planning and evaluation
  • Facilitating the booking of free rooms for your own work
  • Provision of digital tools to facilitate the processes involved in planning, holding and following up on events (including recording agreements with schools, evaluating events, automatically generating certificates of attendance)
The green classroom - a look into the future

The Green Classroom, a project within the "Campus4You" field of action of the Future Learning Location Upper Lusatia (ZukLOS), stands for innovation, education and sustainability. The aim of this project is to create a multifunctional meeting and learning space that brings people of all generations together on the campus in Zittau.

Key points of the green classroom:

  • Target group: The green classroom is aimed at people of all generations, with a special focus on students, employees of the HSZG and school pupils.
  • Capacity: 30 people can be accommodated in this innovative learning space.
  • Outdoor design: The outdoor areas will be equipped with seating islands, a fitness area including calisthenics and weight training facilities, a covered pergola with a PV system, table tennis tables, hammocks, volleyball nets and raised beds.
  • Interior design: A makerspace in the neighboring building supports extracurricular learning with 3D printers, workbenches and a sewing machine, to name just a few examples.
  • Schedule: Construction planning is set to begin in spring 2025, with the goal of completing the project by winter semester 2025.
