Exciting and innovative workshops await you

You can take part in various workshops where you can do handicrafts, express yourself artistically or explore new technologies - we have something for everyone.

You are not tied to any workshop, but can also relax in the chill-out area at any time.

You can find a detailed explanation of the workshops here:

  • Old canteen

    15:30 - 16:30 - "Leucht One"

Meet and Work: Discovering the future of work - co-working and the relationship between co-working and different scenarios by Inga Witing

Inga Witing, Head of Community Management, gives a visual insight into the ENERGY Coworking Space at the Siemens Energy Innovation Campus and explains how the benefits of coworking can be used to drive innovative projects forward and build a supportive network. In the second, interactive part of the presentation, she poses the question together with the participants: What does the ideal working environment look like? In addition to good coffee, what else is needed to work innovatively and develop creative ideas?

    18:30 - 19:45 - "Open space utilization concepts"

Development of innovative concepts for the design of open spaces on campus in Zittau and Görlitz - Workshop with Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Sophia Keil

In the workshop, ideas are pitched by representatives from different faculties. Each pitch lasts a maximum of 5 minutes. This is followed by a period of silent work during which personal feedback is given on the pitch. The feedback is summarized in the plenum and recorded on a pinboard. There are several pitch rounds with the same procedure. At the end of the workshop, a conclusion is drawn and an outlook is given. Participants can decide for themselves to what extent they want to get involved in the active parts of the workshop.

    15:30 - 17:00 - Educational workshop

Philipp Grosche offers a workshop on Re-Discover Education - Paths to a new world of higher education

The knowledge from your studies is largely outdated by the time you hold your certificate in your hand and even with a university degree, you are often left without answers to important questions in life.
Why should you study at all if in a few years an AI will have more skills and more knowledge than you anyway?
From a sober point of view, it is now important to set the course to invite people to holistic education - also at universities. Accumulating skills is not the way forward. We need a different understanding of education. Let's discover this together and build paths to real educational curricula.

    17:30 - 18:45 - Integration workshop

Lucia studies communication psychology at the HSZG and will speak in a workshop about integration in everyday university life

Useful tools and tricks are taught that can help everyone to understand and apply the process of integration and to become more sensitive to open cooperation. The aim is to make integration tangible.

  • Creative workshop 1

    3:30 - 7 p.m. - "Fragrance workshop"

Learning atmosphere through scents - by Kerstin Krone

The workshop is about the effect of essential oils on body, mind and soul. Useful applications in everyday school life are presented. Certain fragrances support focus during learning and communication, relax and provide a balance during breaks and ensure a better indoor climate. There is an extensive range of literature and a fragrance quiz to experience the effects of the oils for yourself. At the DIY table, there is the opportunity to make a fragrant tool yourself. There will be time for discussions and sharing experiences.

Note: The material costs for making your own fragrance will be paid by the participant to Kerstin Krone on site. No card payment possible!

  • Creative workshop 2

    4 - 6 p.m. - "Drawing pictures of the future"

Zukunft.Nachhaltig! offers the "Zukunftsbilder Görlitz" method in its workshop.

The aim is to capture and disseminate young people's ideas for the future. The thematic framework for their ideas is "Sustainability in the European City of Görlitz-Zgorzelec". The SDGs provide inspiration for this. The participants' visions are artistically realized and presented in smaller groups. A graphic designer is also on hand to provide support.

    18:30 - 20:00 - "Climate-neutral Görlitz - TRUST project"

European City of Görlitz/Zgorzelec project: sustainable urban development

The TRUST project aims to build an active network of partners and capacities in Görlitz in order to make Görlitz climate-neutral. To this end, an intensive transfer of knowledge is already taking place between science, the city and its local stakeholders. This is based on current findings from sustainability, transformation and urban research as well as inter- and transdisciplinary and transformative research experiences.

This workshop will develop the student vision(s) for a climate-neutral Görlitz. The results of the workshop will be taken up in the TRUST project. Discover more information about the project!

    15:30 - 18:15 - "Campus (T)Raum Workshop"

Saskia Brosis from ENO mbH Lounge - general brainstorming and networking of the two campuses Görlitz and Zittau

Your university campus is a space where you spend a lot of your life. It is therefore important that this space is designed in a way that makes you feel comfortable, inspires you and also offers a pleasant working atmosphere. The aim of the workshop is therefore to design the campus of the future with the aforementioned attributes. We work with the method of reverse brainstorming, i.e. starting from a dystopia, we arrive at the utopia - your campus dream.

    15:30 - 18:15 - "Use of space"

Different learning spaces and different user groups - Guided by Dr. Dierk Suhr

At several stations within a room, we will look at different learning spaces and their usage scenarios.
The open format of the workshop is intended to allow visitors to come to the various stations and work on ideas without having to register in advance. Visitors can thus focus on a topic/space that is of particular interest to them. In this way, it is not one workshop in which visitors can work on fixed spaces, but many at the same time, so to speak, and they can work on spaces that are relevant to their own interests.

A "green classroom with a makerspace" will be created on the campus in Zittau, led by Mr. Tiller. Take the opportunity to develop concrete ideas together and visualize them with Lego bricks.

  • Welcome meadow

    15:30 - 19:45 - "Mobile learning locations"

Presentation of mobile learning locations for campus networking and presentation of the other ZukLOS projects and their activities and offers - by Robert Viertel

Climbing trees with the pulley block. Engraving with the laser cutter. Constructing sensors for plant irrigation yourself...
At the HSZG, there are many exciting hands-on activities in the individual subjects, which we will be offering even more mobile than before from 2024. With this application-oriented learning, we develop young people's interest in actively engaging with our environment and society.

Come and talk to us in the workshop: How can I get involved? What offers would I like to see? Which teaching modules can be linked to this? What kind of networking would we like to see between the courses?

Why register?

All participants will receive a stamp card on entry. When you register online in advance, you will receive your first stamp directly. As soon as you have collected 3 stamps, you can collect a free drink or a free meal. Stamps are also awarded after completing a workshop or lecture, answering a survey, etc.

However, you would also receive the stamp card without registering at our entrance on 28.06.2023.

However, you can only benefit from registering by getting the first stamp on your stamp card. This means you are closer to your free drink (with 3 stamps) or free food (with 4 stamps) without much effort - registration is not necessary, but it brings you one step closer.

Don't forget to bring a note!

If you are under 18 years old, please bring the completed and signed parental consent form with you and show it to us at the entrance to the festival site.

Future rooms - celebrate and enjoy

Gastronomic offerings from the region await you. Look forward to freshly tapped beer from Bierblume, a varied selection of food from Zittau Vegan and Fleischerei Gruske and drinks from the Gerhart Hauptmann Theater.

Yoga and volleyball are offered by university sports.

Round off the evening with the band "Steaming Animals" and the DJs "Funky Friedel" and "Dwellonski".
